Communication & Technology

Technology has continued to improve the human condition from the wheel to the iPhone technology has made life easier.  Every advance in human society in the last 200 years seems to be directly linked to a new technology or a new application of technology.

Technology has become a product.  We are addicted to our computers and smart phones, they condition and control our lives.  Communication is the area of fastest technological development and growth in human society.

As products get ever more sophisticated, the effort and resources that goes into their manufacture gets every greater, generating bigger global industries and fueling ever greater consumption, resource depletion and waste.  We need to question how this is advancing the human condition.  Is it another expression of what I can’t see (of the overall process), I don’t need to worry about? And how will we change?
