Eastern District: Experiencing Parks in the Neighbourhood

Authors. CHAN Yin Ching, KWOK Tin Long, LAM Hiu Tung

For most Hong Kong people, seldom do we have time to do exercise or have a little walk in the park. We are too busy to do so. Even for people living in the same district for ten or more years, they might not have visited all the parks in their district. In this project, we each are going back to our own district and visiting the parks. We start to discover or revisit the parks that we might have neglected in our daily lives. We analyse each of them in terms of their functions, locational qualities and people using them. We begin to look at the similarities and differences between them. There are interesting relationships between them – some are located on the edge of the roadside, an unfavourable condition, still many people are chilling out there, possibly because of the easily accessible location. There are simply too many interesting bits of information left unnoticed before and we are unveiling them in the following pages.
