SYNTHESIS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a world where ecological diversity, natural resources, unique culture and local communities are increasingly at risk, landscape architecture plays a crucial role in sharing a sustainable future. This dynamic and multidisciplinary field combines ideas from architecture, the arts, urban planning and design, conservation, and the natural sciences to develop innovative solutions that improve the environments we live in. The career Discovery in Landscape Architecture (CDLA) seeks to explore the foundational concepts of this discipline and to discover its potential and significant role for our ever changing societies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Landscape architecture operates at the intersection of nature and society, it documents, analyzes, envisions, and re-thinks the dynamic interactions between natural and social ecosystems. This year, CDLA2026 introduces the ‘SYNTHESIS’ framework. Through the lens of design, it explores both physical and non-physical cues of the natural and built environments. Landscape plays a pivotal role in mediating these systems, gathering cascading impacts across multiple scales, from the site and city to the region.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CDLA proposes to uncover and learn from these invaluable and vulnerable interconnections by exploring nature and collaborating with various organizations. Activities across the program allow students to reflect on the significance of the intertwined existing plants, animals, human beings and built environments in Hong Kong and to learn the wide presence of landscape design components within our cities, rural contexts and protected zones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course aims at providing students an overview of the essential aspects of the landscape architecture discipline by learning from the relationships between nature, humans and the built environment.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
