CIB-HKU Activities

As an Associate Member of this Council, the CIB-HKU Student Chapter was established in the year 2005, about 12 years ago with the assistance of the Faculty of Architecture, the University of Hong Kong. All current Research Postgraduate (RPG) students in our faculty are our members. This year, it is the vision of the new committee to expand the influence of CIB-HKU Student Chapter both within, and outside our university.

In the past decade, the Chapter has devoted to establishing a platform for our RPG students to communicate with and learn from each other, and also the outside building and construction world. Students are given opportunities here to present their own ideas, discuss with seasoned academics and peers, and inspire their enthusiasm of conducting research in the architecture, building and construction domain. Already, we have already developed a series of brand activities, including a Joint-U Conference with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Shenzhen University twice a year, the Postgraduate Sharing session once a year, and some other professional seminars where we invited guests to share their research ideas. The Joint-U academic conference is a tradition in our faculty and it facilitates the communication and interaction among RPG students in HKU, Poly-U and Shenzhen University. We have established a solid friendship and mutual trust with each other through this annual activity.
