Theme

Body & Earth
Earth, the very body of Gaia, and its flesh and blood, are akin to our own. We are connected physically, through all parts of our body, arising sensations of wholeness, being one with Nature.

The performance artists express their bodies, and the essences of selves, in the most honest fashion, as the core part of their work. Their work, along the same veins with conceptual art, process art, land art, and all other time-based art, rejects the conventional forms of commercialized gallery art and is concerned with notions of authenticity.

Through the full immersion of bodies into the landscape, the works address the limits of bodies placed within the climatic and geologic forces of Nature. They reconnect the disinterested urban dwellers’ lost souls back to Earth, and heals the heart through the most simple and direct bodily sensations.

Concept

The Track
The phrase “Body and Earth” literally implies a relationship between humans and nature. However, it tells the presence of a relationship without the intrusion of a value judgment. Such relationship is therefore interesting because it is neither positive nor negative. Rather, it is interactive and ever-changing.
