It’s our great honor to invite the graduate and undergraduate students from your department to participate in the 9th “Innovation Competition in Construction Engineering and Management (ICCEM)”, which is hosted by Department of Construction Management in Tsinghua University and sponsored by the Gammon Construction Limited.
This competition has been successfully held for eight years in mainland China. Since 2007, when it was initially launched, about 300 groups from worldwide have participated in the completion, including students from Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southeast University, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Sungkyunkwan University, University of Technology Malaysia, Pennsylvania State University and other top universities around the world. Various domains concerning Construction Engineering and Management have been covered, such as construction technologies, construction management, laws and regulations, urban planning and management, and urban economics and real estate.
We sincerely invite your department to encourage your graduate and undergraduate students to participate in the 9th “Innovation Competition in Construction Engineering and Management (ICCEM)”. Respond and support by multiple teams from your department is highly appreciated. Meanwhile, any suggestions and comments to the organization of the ICCEM are also welcomed.
The brief introduction of the 9th ICCEM is shown as follows (see Appendix 1 for details).

4. Requirements
(1) Graduate and undergraduate officially matriculating in a university in China or overseas are welcomed to participate in this competition. There is no restriction on the students’ majors. Students should participate as teams of two to six members. Teams are encouraged to collaborate with and seek support from industry.
(2) The teams shall designate a team leader who will be responsible for communication and coordination with the organizing committee. Each team may have up to 2 junior engineers from the industry as team members. The industry junior engineers may not serve as the team leader.
(3) Team formation follows the principle of free combination, and we encourage joint cooperation between universities. However, each student can only participate in one team, and each team can only submit one work.
5. Declaration
ICCEM DO NOT ACCEPT WORKS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN AWARDED BEFORE.
