Understanding, representing and shaping space though the use of physical models is a fundamental skill of the landscape architecture discipline. In this workshop, through small exercises, students test different materials and learn how to build and develop study models.

Talk 2

The Nature Conservancy

As a Chartered Environmentalist and professional sustainability practitioner, Scott Lim leads nature-based solutions (NbS) to address climate challenges across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area in his role as Project Manager at The Nature Conservancy, Hong Kong.

Scott Lim shares insights of his research on the relationship between landscape, nature and conservation with the CDLA students.

Pak Nai, Yuen Long

After learning and expanding on the significance of nature and its relationships, students evidence the fundamental role nature plays to achieve a sustainable and resilient future.

Students contributed to restore the crucial habitats of the Northern Coast. The Nature Conservancy Hong Kong underscored the importance of preserving and regenerating biodiversity.

Benoy | Hong Kong

Students gained insights into the operations of design studio during the visit to Benoy. Teri Tsang, Director and Hong Kong Studio Lead, introduced Benoy and highlighted several real-life projects.


Talk 3

After Nature,

Tsuen Wan West

Students discovered ways to enhance biodiversity through research-driven design along shorelines with After Nature in Tsuen Wan West.

Dr. Chiu Lo shares insights of coastal adaptation and ecological design services for areas impacted by sea level rise, flooding, or habitat loss, using soft and hard forms of ecological engineering.
